Steven Pierce

Owner, Keyrenter Chester

Born and raised in Petersburg Virginia, my journey began 25+ years ago when I graduated high school and joined the United States Air Force where I became an Electrician. The love for real estate began at that time, and I have been in the customer service business ever since. After my military career, the electrical journey quickly catapulted me into becoming a Master Electrician and starting my own company in 2005. I ran a successful, fully outfitted electrical service company in my community and the surrounding RVA area. We were blessed to have the ability to create a large customer and business network which led to a very successful 5-year journey.

This all came to a screeching halt with the dreadful 2009 economic downturn. Always determined to succeed and keep people happy, I quickly re-entered the workforce and begin a new and exciting career in facility maintenance. I went on to be a facility engineer at a BOA facility, working for one of the top and well-respected commercial real estate maintenance companies in the world, by the name of JLL. Because of my tenacity, determination, willingness to learn, and previous business experience, it led me to a position in DC at Fannie Mae’s headquarters as a Chief Engineer. I led the team to some major victories in equipment upgrades and grounds improvement projects and I was then sent to head up Capital One’s headquarters in Northern Va (Reston) where I solidified my Chief Engineering badge. This role included but was not limited to managing all facilities operations and ensuring that all tenants were taken care of, and comfortable, and all dining facilities were running to feed over 3500 associates daily. This was a massive undertaking and it made me skillful in customer service. The task of ensuring that everyone around me was taken care of no matter what was my mission, not the job. I was then afforded the opportunity to be employed by the world-renowned Smithsonian Institution, where I managed several facilities to support the museums in downtown Washington DC. This was an honor, a privilege, and dream come true. In 2019 my Wife and I started a very successful logistics business where our drivers provide the last mile customer deliveries for Amazon. This has been a rewarding experience ensuring that customers receive their deliveries properly and on time. This opportunity while being out in the community, led me to begin buying rental properties, renting them to tenants, performing all of the property management duties, and investing in buying real estate. While serving others, I was blessed with the ability to invest in and start the Keyrenter Chester location where I will continue my love and passion for serving people, the community that surrounds me, and my love for real estate!
